ALTERED Hot Guys: Trev

Next up on the ALTERED Hot Guys posts is Trev.

Out of the four boys, Trev is Anna's best friend. She's divulged a lot of her secrets to him, including her feelings for Sam. Though even if Anna hadn't outright told him, Trev would have figured it out himself. He's good at reading Anna, quietly, subtly, and he knows just what she needs to hear, when she needs to hear it. 


Not that he solves all her problems for her. Trev often doles out advice wrapped up in complex philosophies so Anna has to pick apart his answers for their true meanings. Trev doesn't want to make anything easy for her. 


He spent a lot of his time in the lab reading biographies, anyone from Cleopatra to George Washington to John F. Kennedy. He's a huge fan of Virginia Woolf and Mark Twain, particularly Twain's lesser known stuff like Letters from the Earth and The Diaries of Adam and Eve. He has an incredibly memory, and can rattle off a line of poetry or a famous quote at a moment's notice, and often does. 


He gets along really well with Cas, respects Sam, and doesn't give Nick much notice. He doesn't care for Nick's volatile attitude. Trev doesn't waste his time on anyone not willing to communicate properly, and Nick's communication skills are pretty much nil. 


So, now that you know a little bit more about Trev, let's get to the interview questions.

1. If you could be any animal, what would you be?

[shrugs] An owl?

2.  Let's say you're walking down the street. You're wearing a thick coat. You have a sandwich in your hand and a $20 bill in your pocket and a frail man stops you, begging for some change. Do you give him anything?

I'd give him everything I had.  

3. You've won the lottery. What's the first thing you buy?

[ponders question for a while] My freedom

4. What's the one thing you couldn't live without?

The written word

ALTERED Hot Guys: Cas

I just finished up the ALTERED first pass pages and sent them on their way to Editor Julie. Because of that, I thought I'd celebrate a bit with a post about hot guys. Specifically ALTERED hot guys.

I went back and forth on whether I wanted to talk about all four boys, or do one post per boy. I finally decided to go with the latter, because that will give you and me more time (and posts) to consume.

So, first up:

Oh Cas. Where even to begin with him. 

If I was to be lazy and label him with one word it would be HILARIOUS. He doesn't take anything seriously. He hates when people fight. He's the kind of guy that wants everyone to get along. 

He is always, ALWAYS eating. And I suspect if he'd been properly diagnosed as a kid, they would have found a lot of ADHD symptoms in him. He hates sitting still. He's bored easily. You will never see Cas sitting poetically on a park bench watching the sun set. 

Before he became involved with the Branch (the company Anna's dad works for in ALTERED), Cas was close to becoming a pro snowboarder. He liked all kinds of extreme sports, but snowboarding was definitely his favorite. Unfortunately for him, that dream was crushed when...well, I will stop there, because I have written Cas's origin story and I fancy letting you all read it someday too. I don't want to spoil it. 

Let's just say Something Happened, and Cas's dream of being a pro-boarder ended abruptly. That's where his story with the Branch begins.

And because I like to entertain myself by letting the boys answer ridiculous interview questions do very important, and extremely serious, exercises in character development as a way to get in touch with their inner souls, I'll have each boy answer four questions in the ALTERED hot guy posts.

1. If you could be any animal, what would you be?

Isn't it obvious? Look at this face. I'd be a golden retriever. The most beloved dog of all time. 

2.  Let's say you're walking down the street. You're wearing a thick coat. You have a sandwich in your hand and a $20 bill in your pocket and a frail man stops you, begging for some change. Do you give him anything?

I'd be willing to part with the coat and the cash, but nothing comes between me and my food. 

3. You've won the lottery. What's the first thing you buy?

A helicopter. 

4. What's the one thing you couldn't live without?

Barbecue spare ribs
